The Emie Memo is a versatile and practical device, but with a fun design and funky shake-activated power status feature. It may not offer the best value for money in terms of power capacity, but the auto-on/-off feature and passthrough charging capabilities are helpful features which are not always available from cheaper competitors. The fun design makes this Emie Memo stand out amongst the many similar devices on sale, with a 10,000mAh power capacity the Emie Memo single-output offers fast charging via a flat white Micro-USB cable and is just slightly larger than an average smartphone, so will slip into a pocket without problems.
The Emie comes in a variety of fun graphical designs, including Ice Cream, Pop Art, Mountains and Egypt. The plastic casing has a quality rubbery soft-touch feel and feels well made, but best of all, you just shake it to activate the LED bar and show how much power remains. With auto-on and auto-off, you just plug the Emie into your mobile device to begin charging and then it’s done it automatically shuts off the power. However, the LED bar is a bit confusing at first and will means most users will have to consult the user guide.
With a powerful smartphone such as the Samsung Galaxy S6, the Emie Memo has enough capacity for almost three full charges, but with the power hungry iPhone 6s you can expect around four full charges. The Emie memo itself recharges via a 1.5A Micro-USB input and takes a few hours to fully charge and the batteries are capable of over 500 recharge cycles over the lifetime of the device. The Emie Memo is available from just £18 from Amazon and other selected stores.
